Dancing with the Clouds at Sto Tomas

After a long stressful week at work, we decided to sweat it out. We heard that Sto Tomas in Tuba Benguet is a place for hikers so that's where we headed. We woke up early to prepare, bought baon in goodtaste and was at the jeep terminal at 8AM. We have know idea how to get there so we asked around. Apparently there are two options you can choose, ride Sto Tomas,Cabuyao jeep and it will take you straight to the top, so if your intention is to hike ride the Green Valley jeep up to the check point. From there- let the fun begin :)

When we arrived at the check point it was freezing cold, but that's okay- after a few minutes of walking it felt warm that we needed to take off our sweatshirts. The view was amazing- you are literally on top of the world, overlooking the City of Baguio. There are very few vehicles so the air is definitely fresher :D.

The walk was very tiring but with music and the crazy people im with, it was all worth it. Plus think about all the calories it can burn :D

Finally we arrived on top. We saw the station of the cross and the satellites (nothing really special about the satellites :)) Sun was hot. We walked a little further to look for a place to rest, men there werent any good spots, until we reached PAG ASA office. Luckily- there's not a lot of vehicles going there so we positioned our picnic mat right on the road :D It was a great choice after all because from here you can see China Sea, amazing view. It was just 11:30 AM but we decided to eat lunch- mmm, delicious.

We finished eating at 12PM and laid down to relax. We noticed that the clouds are already crowding in on us this early. Weather is getting cold, felt great- like dancing with the clouds. But with all the excitement better head home before it will rain :)

Food Trip in Porta Vaga, Baguio City

I really love food! Give me anything that looks yummy and ill eat it :) I also love tasting all sorts of different foods, but with budget contraints i always try to look for restaurants who serve great food with the least amount of money :)

Last week while looking for a video card for my computer, we happen to be at Porta Vaga, located in Session Road Baguio City. I was in the mood to eat a lot although i wasnt really hungry :D. We came across a stall that sells Japanese Takoyaki. It is supposed to be healthy because it has veges. But the best part compared to other Takoyaki stand is that you mix your own sauce from mayo, garlic sauce, hot sauce and etc :) It was really good.

After eating, you wont believe this but there's still room for more. Just a few steps away is Siomai House. Im sure everyone is familiar with this because theyre all over the place :) I really love Siomai complete with chili, soy sauce and calamansi. I would even eat this with rice :)

While we were eating we saw this small burger stand that claims grilled to perfection patties, but dont they all :) anyway, we decided to try it. Im a big fan of burger, specially big burgers :) We checked thier menu and most of it are very affordable. You can get a buger for the price of P85, add P20 and it comes with fries and iced tea. But get this, they also sell HUGE 8inch burgers with the price ranging from P250-P450. But we decided to go small and ordered a burger with cheese and bacon, we also tried thier naked hotdog.

Moment of truth, the tasting. 1st bite, and oh- it taste so, so good. The pattie is so juicy and its just so awesome that if you ask my sister shell say it taste somewhat like Army Navy, and if you ask me it taste just like Brother's Burger :). If you happen to be here in Baguio, try to check the place out :) You wont regret it.

So full :), time to head home. As we walk along Session Road, there is this small stall in upper Session Road called Sweet Stops, and by the name itself- yes, they sell sweet stuff. I havent tried everything but im addicted to thier velvet cupcake. It taste really sweet that if you really have a sweet tooth, this is for you.

Finally, nothing beats ending food trips better than street foods :) all things street foods.

Strawberry Fields and BSU

Me and my sisters woke up at 5AM today, why? We are going jogging. This is the first time we are going to do this in many months :D Hope it wont be that tiring.

From home we decided to pass by the Strawberry fields, for us it is a normal view but for people who grew up in a busy city they might appreciate it more than i do :)

Strawberry Fields
Weather was so cool early in the morning, it really is a perfect time to go jogging. Plus there are few vehicles so the air is fresh.

Strawberry Fields
Im not sure what activities are being offered here but i heard they let you pick your strawberies for the amount of P300. Its pretty laid back here, it is relaxing just walking around. You might even want to try thier strawberry taho. There are also, of course stalls for souvenirs. They sell all sorts of different things from brooms, clothings, food, veges and etc.

But if you happen to stay the night here in La Trinidad Benguet, i strongly suggest that you go jogging and take the same route as we did. Pass by the strawberry fields then go to BSU (Benguet State University)- this is where all joggers/health enthusiast are :) Here, there is the oval and the open gym. Its so cool that there are aerobic instructors leading intense aerobic exercise for a cheap price. This is a must try :)

Like what is shown in the picture above, you can do all sorts of crazy stuff. We brought along our jump rope :) Its crazy fun here, make sure to be with your friends or family- and oh, make sure to bring your own music.
